GPT-6 Astra has surprised me. I’m still early in using it, but this feels different from any previous AI release I’ve tried.
A couple of things I’ve already had it help me with:
A messy Google Sheets spreadsheet. Multiple tabs, a lot of messy data, and plenty to work through. I had Astra work on it for me, and it gave me a much better sense of what it can take on in everyday work.
A really long, complicated form. I also had it help me fill one out. It’s the kind of practical task that makes these capabilities feel immediately useful.
Those two experiences have stuck with me. Spreadsheets and forms might sound ordinary, but they’re exactly the kinds of things that fill up a day. Seeing Astra help with them has me thinking about what else I could hand over.
I’ve been impressed by AI releases before, but this one feels different in a way I’m still trying to put into words. It has already surprised me with what it can do, and I don’t feel like I’ve come close to finding its limits.
This is a first take, and I want to spend more time with it before drawing bigger conclusions. Right now, though, I feel like we’re just scratching the surface.
I’ll have more to share soon as I keep using it and trying it on more real work.
